The technique used in acupuncture is small very thin sterilised needles inserted into the skin on specific points, these are commonly referred to as acupuncture points or acupoints. Acupuncture is completely personalised to every client as no two individuals have the same needs. Your first initial treatment will start with a consultation this will include a form you will need to fill out where you will be asked about medical history, lifestyle no general health.

Once our specialist has spoken to you and you have discussed a treatment plan then we can begin your acupuncture treatment. We have super comfy beds in the salon so you will be laying down comfortably and be asked to relax and take a few deep breaths. Our specialist will then go over specific areas that you have both spoken about previously and look for your acupoints so that she can treat you in the best way possible. Then when your specific acupoints has been located she will remove a fine needle from its sterile pack and precisely place it in your acupoint. This will continue until all areas that are of concern or want to be treated have a needle inserted within the acupoint in that specific area.

Most people that have acupuncture say it is little to no discomfort as the needles are so fine and a placed so precisely and gently. Each needle will stay within its specific acupoint for between 5 and 30 minutes. After your treatment your needles will be removed and the area in which each needle was placed will be swabbed with a sterilising pad to ensure the area is clean and sanitised.

Acupuncture has incredible results after the first treatment so can always be used as an added boost, but generally if you are having it because of a specific concern or discomfort we usually recommend having a course of treatments to ensure that you receive the best results possible. The amount of treatments within your course will completely depends on your individual needs and wants.
